Cette notion, intimement li\u00e9e \u00e0 celle de Brahman, repr\u00e9sente non seulement <strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">l&rsquo;essence individuelle de chaque \u00eatre vivant<\/span><\/strong>, mais aussi un pont vers la compr\u00e9hension de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 ultime.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"7:1-7:27\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Qu&rsquo;est-ce que l&rsquo;Atman ?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"9:1-9:519\">L&rsquo;Atman est souvent traduit par \u00ab\u00a0Soi\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0\u00e2me\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0esprit\u00a0\u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0principe vital\u00a0\u00bb. Cependant, aucune de ces traductions ne rend pleinement la richesse et la complexit\u00e9 du concept. L&rsquo;Atman n&rsquo;est pas simplement l&rsquo;ego ou la personnalit\u00e9 individuelle, qui sont consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme des constructions temporaires et illusoires. Il est plut\u00f4t la conscience pure, la source de la vie et de la conscience qui anime chaque \u00eatre. Il est <strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">ce qui persiste au-del\u00e0 des changements du corps et de l&rsquo;esprit, l&rsquo;\u00e9tincelle divine pr\u00e9sente en chacun<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"11:1-11:71\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">L&rsquo;identification Atman-Brahman :<\/span><\/strong> \u00ab\u00a0Aham Brahm\u0101smi\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0Tat Tvam Asi\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"13:1-13:232\">L&rsquo;enseignement le plus r\u00e9volutionnaire des Upanishads est l&rsquo;affirmation de l&rsquo;<strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">identit\u00e9 fondamentale entre l&rsquo;Atman et <a href=\"https:\/\/ekongkar.yoga\/?p=39346\">Brahman<\/a><\/span><\/strong>. Cette identification est exprim\u00e9e \u00e0 travers des formules puissantes, les <em>mahavakyas<\/em> (grandes sentences) :<\/p>\n<ul data-sourcepos=\"15:1-18:0\">\n<li data-sourcepos=\"15:1-16:0\">\n<p data-sourcepos=\"15:5-15:336\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">\u00ab\u00a0Aham Brahm\u0101smi\u00a0\u00bb (\u0905\u0939\u0902 \u092c\u094d\u0930\u0939\u094d\u092e\u093e\u0938\u094d\u092e\u093f) : \u00ab\u00a0Je suis Brahman\u00a0\u00bb<\/span><\/strong> (Brihadaranyaka Upanishad). Cette phrase proclame l&rsquo;unit\u00e9 absolue entre le Soi individuel et la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 ultime, la reconnaissance que la v\u00e9ritable nature de l&rsquo;Atman est identique \u00e0 celle de Brahman.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"17:1-18:0\">\n<p data-sourcepos=\"17:5-17:358\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">\u00ab\u00a0Tat Tvam Asi\u00a0\u00bb (\u0924\u0924\u094d \u0924\u094d\u0935\u092e\u094d \u0905\u0938\u093f) : \u00ab\u00a0Tu es Cela\u00a0\u00bb<\/span><\/strong> (Chandogya Upanishad). Cette formule, r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9e \u00e0 plusieurs reprises dans le dialogue entre Uddalaka Aruni et son fils Shvetaketu, souligne \u00e9galement que l&rsquo;essence de chaque individu est la m\u00eame que celle de Brahman. \u00ab\u00a0Cela\u00a0\u00bb (Tat) d\u00e9signe Brahman, la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 ultime, et \u00ab\u00a0Tu\u00a0\u00bb (Tvam) d\u00e9signe l&rsquo;Atman, le Soi individuel.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"19:1-19:303\">Ces <em>mahavakyas<\/em> ne sont pas de simples d\u00e9clarations intellectuelles, mais <strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">des invitations \u00e0 une exp\u00e9rience directe et transformative<\/span><\/strong>. Elles impliquent une remise en question profonde de notre perception habituelle du soi et du monde, une dissolution de l&rsquo;ego et une r\u00e9alisation de l&rsquo;unit\u00e9 fondamentale.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"21:1-21:65\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Les diff\u00e9rentes perspectives sur la conscience<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"23:1-23:88\">Les Upanishads explorent la nature de la conscience \u00e0 travers diff\u00e9rentes perspectives :<\/p>\n<ul data-sourcepos=\"25:1-30:0\">\n<li data-sourcepos=\"25:1-26:0\">\n<p data-sourcepos=\"25:5-25:221\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">La conscience comme t\u00e9moin :<\/span><\/strong> L&rsquo;Atman est souvent d\u00e9crit comme un t\u00e9moin immuable des exp\u00e9riences du corps et de l&rsquo;esprit. Il observe les pens\u00e9es, les \u00e9motions et les sensations sans s&rsquo;y identifier ni s&rsquo;y attacher.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"27:1-28:0\">\n<p data-sourcepos=\"27:5-27:340\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Les \u00e9tats de conscience :<\/span><\/strong> La Mandukya Upanishad, notamment, analyse les quatre \u00e9tats de conscience : l&rsquo;\u00e9tat de veille (Jagrat), l&rsquo;\u00e9tat de r\u00eave (Svapna), l&rsquo;\u00e9tat de sommeil profond (Sushupti) et l&rsquo;\u00e9tat de transcendance (Turiya). Elle relie ces \u00e9tats aux diff\u00e9rents aspects du son Om, r\u00e9v\u00e9lant ainsi la nature transcendante de l&rsquo;Atman<em> (lire aussi: <a href=\"https:\/\/ekongkar.yoga\/?p=13061\">Secrets et significations du Om \u2013 \u0950<\/a>).<\/em><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"29:1-30:0\">\n<p data-sourcepos=\"29:5-29:198\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">La conscience comme lumi\u00e8re : <\/span><\/strong>L&rsquo;Atman est parfois compar\u00e9 \u00e0 une lumi\u00e8re int\u00e9rieure qui illumine toutes les exp\u00e9riences.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"31:1-31:27\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">L&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience de l&rsquo;unit\u00e9<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"33:1-33:394\">L&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience de l&rsquo;unit\u00e9 avec Brahman, <strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">la r\u00e9alisation de l&rsquo;identit\u00e9 Atman-Brahman, est le but ultime de la qu\u00eate spirituelle selon les Upanishads<\/span><\/strong>. Cette exp\u00e9rience transcende les limitations de l&rsquo;intellect et des sens. Elle est d\u00e9crite comme un \u00e9tat de paix profonde, de b\u00e9atitude infinie et de libert\u00e9 absolue. Elle met fin au cycle des renaissances (Samsara) et apporte la lib\u00e9ration (Moksha).<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"35:1-35:287\">Cette r\u00e9alisation n&rsquo;est pas une annihilation du soi individuel, mais plut\u00f4t une reconnaissance de sa v\u00e9ritable nature, une expansion de la conscience qui englobe l&rsquo;univers entier.
