L&rsquo;expir normal, passif, n&rsquo;exige aucun effort musculaire. Le principal avantage de l&rsquo;expiration consciente est d&rsquo;amener un contr\u00f4le conscient sur la r\u00e9action de relaxation.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Ralentir l&rsquo;inspir et l&rsquo;expir<\/span><\/strong> dans le pranayama, comme en nadi shodana et en ujjayi, pr\u00e9sente de nombreux avantages en ce qui concerne notre sant\u00e9. On dispose de davantage d&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne, ce qui am\u00e9liore les gaz sanguins et la digestion. Il facilite le ralentissement du rythme cardiaque et l&rsquo;abaissement de la pression sanguine, comme l&rsquo;on prouv\u00e9 maintes fois les recherches sur la m\u00e9ditation. On est moins survolt\u00e9. Ce processus favorise le repos et la r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique.<\/p>\n<p>En pranayama, <strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">on acc\u00e9l\u00e8re parfois l&rsquo;inspir et l&rsquo;expir<\/span><\/strong>, comme en bhastrika et kapalbhati. Nous faisons ainsi l&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience d&rsquo;un surcro\u00eet de ma\u00eetrise sur notre syst\u00e8me nerveux.<\/p>\n<p>Le processus qui am\u00e8ne \u00e0 augmenter<strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\"> la conscience du souffle implique davantage le cortex<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; la partie la plus \u00e9volu\u00e9e du cerveau &#8211; que le tronc du cerveau primitif. La pratique r\u00e9guli\u00e8re de pranayama \u00e9tal\u00e9e sur une p\u00e9riode assez longue, renforce le contr\u00f4le cortical, un processus appel\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0t\u00e9l\u00e9nc\u00e9phalisation\u00a0\u00bb.
