Chaque fibre est une cellule qui pr\u00e9sente la particularit\u00e9 de pouvoir se contracter, c&rsquo;est \u00e0 dire de se <strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">raccourcir<\/span><\/strong>. Un raccourcissement des fibres \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle cellulaire en provoque un au niveau du faisceau de fibres, qui lui-m\u00eame entra\u00eene un raccourcissement \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle de l&rsquo;organe. Le muscle est alors contract\u00e9. Le taux de raccourcissement des fibres et le nombre de faisceaux de fibres impliqu\u00e9s dans la contraction conditionnent la force d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e par le muscle.<\/p>\n<p>Le raccourcissement d&rsquo;un muscle, lors de sa contraction, <strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">exerce une force<\/span><\/strong> qui tire sur les tendons qui tirent eux-m\u00eames sur des os ou d&rsquo;autres structures, comme la peau.
