Servant de pont entre le syst\u00e8me nerveux et le syst\u00e8me endocrinien, il est impliqu\u00e9 dans la r\u00e9gulation de grandes fonctions telles que le maintien de la temp\u00e9rature corporelle, le synchronisme de l&rsquo;horloge biologique, la faim et la sati\u00e9t\u00e9, la soif et la diur\u00e8se, les r\u00e9actions \u00e9motionnelles (peur, stress, plaisir\u2026), le comportement sexuel, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Il re\u00e7oit \u00e0 la fois des informations venant de la p\u00e9riph\u00e9rie du corps (par exemple la composition du sang) et des signaux provenant d&rsquo;autres parties du cerveau.
